Katherine Broendel, AAUW’s Social Media & Communications Fellow, earned her Master’s degree in Public Communication at the American University in Washington, DC. Her thesis focused on the framing of sexual violence in the media. Broendel’s professional experience includes work at various nonprofit organizations including the National Geographic Society; Amnesty International, USA; and Defenders of Wildlife. Her interests include Tim Burton films, Batman comics, Beatles music, Star Trek, geography, and nineteenth century literature.
